Window washer filler

Post by mackz »

This may seem like a dumb question but
where is the window washer filler on a late T 2 5 van
if the coolant is the one behind the number plate hinge?

Where you would LEAST expect to find it. Likewise brake/clutch fluid under the dashboard cowling. Ingenious these Germans you know.... :D

Or the driver's floor mat if your steering wheel is on the "proper" side

Left side front footwell (as you sit in the van looking forwards) N/S/F more or less under the carpet where your left boot would be.
If it has rear washers there is an additional washer bottle in the O/S/R panel to the right of the engine hatch cover.
That bottle behind the number plate is one of TWO for antifreeze coolant, the one you can see is the overflow top up tank and needs to be filled just below the neck (has min/max marks on the outside of the bottle) the other coolant tank is the pressurized one and is accessed through the engine cover N/S/R, this one needs to be full to the brim.
The engines dip stick is also accessible from the number plate flap and so is the EXTENDABLE oil filler pipe.
The clutch/brake resevoir is a combined unit accessed under the instrument binackle (pull the black plastic trim from the rear, next to the windsrceen, to remove)
