fuel system breather tanks problem refitting

Post by djhammy »

HI me again.

I Have spent the day removing the breather tanks ether side so i can treat and recover with under body sealant several rusty patches that I've just had welded behind them. The garage welded from the inside of the van so never took them out.

I managed to prise them out of the depression in the metal body to the rear but despite my best efforts just can not seem to get them back into the depression. Is there a magic trick I'm missing out on here?

Hope you can help

Hammy

if you splurged a lot of u/seal on there , t'will be most difficult to fit into the depression, i had to scrape some off. I was kinda lucky tho in that i had treated the depression and all around with marine grade epoxy resin, so sealer is cosmetic really.
Epoxy is quite good for depression.
