Devon Pop Top

Post by pmulcahy »

unfortunatly the Wiki thread has been removed so please help!
Just wondering the best way to remove it. Do i drill the rivets outer and inner and then drill the hinges. Or is it better to undo all those tiny screws holding the canvas on? Maybe just find a really low bridge?

i have just removed my roof of my 1600 ct devon as well for painting and to carpet it . I removed all lower screws from the main tin roof removed the 4 plastic strips. then tied up the plastic bellows up at both ends with string to keep it within the fibre glass roof for removal.removed black rubber bungs to tie the string through. remove the 4 bolts that hold the ally bars that are conected to the roof bellows. then drill the 4 riverts with correct drill bit that are on the 3 hinges on offside of van were the roof pivorts . then lift off with enough people we had 4 ,2 inside and 2 outside make sure it is not windy. :ok

are you keeping the roof, or getting rid? if so, I'll gladly take the vent opening mechanism off your hands...
