Thanks for the info you know your onions! just looking to power an empty panel van whilst trying not to get to complicated, I sort of worked out that a scooby conversion would be about £3000 ish I have limited facilities, ( ie it would have to be done on the road outside my house ) If I replaced the existing lump with a bored out one it might be a bit more of a straight forward job whilst giving me that little bit extra punch. Have tried to do as much research as I can, seems not a lot of info on the 2.2 from TES, but I will keep looking for a while before making my mind up.
I will of course keep you posted and with pictures when I do decide ! just to make it more complicated I have a 2 litre 8v lump from a MK3 golf in the garden looking at me, shouting when am I going to get fitted ( that was the other idea )

Re: 1.9 to 2.1
Well... see what price the "kit of parts" you need is.. thats all the D/TD bellhousing, sump mounting bar etc etc... (see the 1st 2 posts at the top of the forum for more info..
) then wireing it up etc.. would be a lot cheaper than a scooby, or a big wbx... 2L 8v is only 115bhp.. lots of grunt though, spins up faster and revs more... IIRC + you could get a modified head for it to make it go better... and prob still have plenty of change....

Re: 1.9 to 2.1
Well I had a free afternoon today so I done the majority of the work, 1.9 out and the 2.1 is now in and running
I've still got the 2.1 exhaust on for now, and it needs a good service but it does seem to work. Once the rest of the bits are on I will be having it set up on the rollers. I'll let you know how it goes.
