1.6 four speed gearbox

Hello, I have a 1.6 four speed gearbox (1.6 NA diesel engine), it jumps out of 2nd have to physically hold in, also can't find 3rd from 4th and 1st from 2nd. to find 3rd from 4th I have to go into 2nd (clutch kept dipped) then into 3rd, and to find 1st from 2nd I put the gears into neutral dip clutch then into 1st??? Only really started driving the van this week and combined with the engine being slightly underpowered it is becoming very frustrating....Help please.

hi , what year is your van?
i have a early box , untested but was from a mot failure.

happy to do a free exchange if you pop yours over(gloucester)

1981, do you think the problem is the gearbox? Wouldn't have a clue how to change it!
