Ignition off, oil light on!

Post by gsmoke »

2.0 a/c
Here's a good one.
My oil light works as normal but when I turn the ignition off the oil light comes on dimly!
Everything looks ok at the engine end and behind the dash.
Anybody got any ideas?
Cheers

looks like you have a small voltage leakage onto the ignition side, could be from anywhere. I would check the ignition side with a multimeter and measure the voltage as it should be zero with the ignition off. Disconnect the leisure battery if you have one in case the leakage is from the split charge relay wiring. Take the fuses out one by one and any relays, you're going to have a bit of fun tracking that one down .....best of luck!
