Does anyone know where I will get an oil pressure relief valve spring for a 1.9 gg engine? Obsolete part apparently.
VW garage can't help. My oil pressure is not ok as first diagnosed by them but is too high. any ideas?

Re: oil pressure relief valve spring
I have put the part number up on your other post. Are you sure it is obsolete. Who did the oil pressure check, what have they told you.
These engines do create high pressure when cold, but they should have checked it hot when they are renowned for low oil pressure.
Laurie petite will be able to help.
Elite must have some.
Thats if you need one.

Re: oil pressure relief valve spring
Hi Simon, local VW garage checked the oil pressure. they borrowed my haynes manual and said the pressure at idle and at 2000 rpm were high. They took out the oil pressure relief valve and the plunger was ok. They said that the spring was very tight and only to rule out the cause of the buzzer were going to change it but they said the part is obsolete. I think they may have checked it cold though.

Re: oil pressure relief valve spring
Have confirmed with garage and oil pressures were checked cold and hot. When hot, 30psi at idle.
3000rpm it's 60 psi+
will go ahead with the new spring to help alleviate this. buzzer of doom must be wiring/ electronic as everything in the engine bay checks out.
Simon, i sent you a pm.
