hi i think i have major problems my t25 is overheating a lot to the point where the red light is flashing so we stop check the coolant and top it up but the coolant keeps disapearing but its not leeking on to the floor any where i have checked the oil to see if there is water present and there is not any in the sump can any one give me some advice as im puzzled and worried its a 1983 t25 1.9 petrol water cooled
We have checked the oil but that seems fine.
We have also checked underneath the oil cap and there is no evidence of water there.
Hmmm.
Any ideas anyone?
have the cooling system pressure checked to see if it's leaking, often the leak will be above the exhaust and only when running so all loss gets evaporated on the exhaust, but if it's not leaking, is full and properly bled and still losing water then it's consuming it which is rebuild time.
I bought a new expansion tank (not a top up tank) from JK.
It had a flaw where the two halves were joined together,
water only leaked out when the system was pressurised and the water evaporated or ran away on the bodywork.
