You could try seeing if your alternator is working. I have No tech experience to speak of .. but my van used to do this...if she started ok it was fine, if I had to turn her over more than once..no chance! I replaced the battery (having had to call the AA out) but had the same problem the next day (AA came back out lol) ..turned out to be the alternator wasn't charging the battery properly. Got that refurbished and the problem seems sorted. (Fingers crossed|!)

Re: more probs (battery)
One or more of the diodes in the rectifier on the alternator could have shorted. This will prevent charging and also drain the battery in a short amount of time as the battery is permanently connected to the alternator. Recharge the battery and disconnect the alternator connection(s). If batttery stays charged then you have found the culprit.

Re: more probs (battery)
Yep, that should do it.
Just to be sure... If you reconnect it after checking the battery and it goes flat again then that should prove it hopefully.
If you have access to a multimeter and can take 2 readings from the battery, one connected to alternator and one not connected, then if the alternator is at fault you should get a voltage drop when it is connected.
