MOT

Hi,

Our bus MOT expires on the 17.05.09 according to the certificate, which is Sunday.

Does this mean at the end of the day ie. midnight on Sunday 17th May? Or does it mean that on Sunday 17th May is has expired and we can't drive it except to an MOT test centre (booked in for Tuesday).

I think it's the former, not the latter.

Informed knowledge would be appreciated, however, wild speculation will also be accepted but instantly discarded.

I only ask as we'd like to go away at the weekend.

I always test our's as early as possible within the period where you keep your MOT date ... effectively getting 13 month's ticket. This gives you time to carry out any repairs which you haven't picked up during your routine maintenance.

Unfortunately we thought we had until the beginning of June until we actually checked the certificate and realised we had until Sunday, Bah!

You understand it correctly......from midnight on Sunday the 17th it becomes illegal to drive your vehicle unless by prior arrangement to go to the MOT station.
