Got a T4 Holdsworth with the solid side poptop, also common on 1980-90 Holdsworth vans.
I have the fixed roof bed board but am missing the other boards.I could just make up some boards but am
curious as to what the originals looked like? Were they 2 loose boards or did they hinge on each other? There is a
u shaped groove either side, like a locating groove.....
If any one could give me a description of the boards or even a pic, that would be great
Thanks people

I havent got them either but have made some out of plywood.
The originals Putney used to have - are two boards (not hinged) and they are covered with a sponge on the top surface.
I cant remember about the bottom - but i bet they do have some sort of locating pin to fit in the groove on the poptop...

Cheers Ringo.I think at the time some vans were sold as 2 berth and it was an extra to buy the roof bed boards

Re: HOLDSWORTH ROOF BED BOARDS,HELP
Hi there.
We only have one board. This is positioned in the forward slots so that we can pop the roof up. It then slides back to form the bed. I've attached some piccies.
I have slept in the top, albeit diagonally (6ft +)

Hope they help.

It's got a VW motor, a 116.8 cubic inch plant, Michelin tyres, VW suspension, VW shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas. What do you say, is it the new RedSquirrel bus or what?

Re: HOLDSWORTH ROOF BED BOARDS,HELP
Thanks Red Squirrel.Thats great.Makes me think there must have been a final board to stop the little uns falling out but then poping up the roof would have been impossible unless the final board was kept loose downstairs.
The front corner of my top looks different to yours. If a board went into the corner it looks like it would sandwich between the side and the upper curved edge.If my pic uploads you will see what i mean....hopefully...

Re: HOLDSWORTH ROOF BED BOARDS,HELP
After our little one fell out of bed
we use a Tomy bed guard Clickety-Click. We had to cut it down by about an inch so that it fitted (the bed guard not the little one
). If there was another board, I don't think the air circulation would be too good upstairs.
