Dash light replacement
hi, I'm after sproosing the dash look, does anyone know of twist in LED's or a simple way to replace the dim dash lightage

UV led lamps are good for the dashboard illumination. Makes the white numbers on dials etc stand out.
Seen them on ebay somewhere but a while back now.

Don't know of a direct LED replacement that is 'plug n play' but they may be out there. A lot of peeps have converted to LED instrumentation lighting. There is no 'simple' quick way to do this and involves modifying the existing buld holderrs and soldering LED's into them. Using 12V superbright LED's makses things a little simpler as no resistor is needed for each LED. If you want details of how to do it then I am sure you will get lots of peeps happy to upload pics of whats involved and how to do the conversion. Bear in mind that if you do go ahead with this then the Display brightness control will be redundant as it has virtually no effect on LED brightness.

I just fitted a PC-type UV tube (Maplins do em for about £7) above the clocks. Job done and nicer light. You may want to modify original bulb orafices to let in more light but I didn't bother.
