The fridge (Electrolux 3 way 17 yrs old) works on 240v (I say works buts that is the point of this thread).
It also "works" -but not so well on Gas (suggesting my jet is clear...?) (i am not expecting much from 12v......0
It spent the last 6 months upside down inthe garage so has had the coolant agitated to celar blocakges.
I have tried to seal round fridge so air can only come in at bottom and out the side vent.
On 240v
Making sure the van is level I managed to get 0 deg in Ice box and 12 deg in fridge with an outside of 15 degrees
When the van reached 25 degrees inside - the fridge was about the same (0 deg and 12 deg). I did get the ice tray down to -5 degrees overnight though.
On gas - the performance is a little worse (typically a couple of degrees warmer - to the point where you saw little difference between outside temp and fridge temp.
Any ideas why performance could be so poor (or is this poor?....) on both 240v and gas. The heat exch certainly gets hot at he bottom (and warm a bit higher but only slightly warm by the time you get to the bit behind the vent/grille.) Does this suggest blocked channels in the coolant meaning it is only perhaps getting to the freezer bit.....?
Your Ideas please
