excessive fast idle problem

Hi, been getting van ready for summer, in adjusting carb to get running ok i have managed to get excessive fast idle.when i start the van it idles excessively fast for 3/4 mins, pump the accelerator and it eases off. then it is fine. any idea what i have done wrong?
its a cu engine with twin carbs- standard ones

its more than likely caused by the auto chokes, as when you blip the throttle your knocking em off. you could try backing the chokes off a bit.

theres three screws on the choke body , unscrew em and move the choke housing to open the fully closed position, its all explained in the haynes manual!! :ok
