We currently have the Kyham Classic motordome awining & I can't fault it apart from the fact that its a tad too small for a 2 week holiday (and all the junk we seem to collect!)
so we've been thinking of upgrading to the HUUUUGE new Kyham awning, like this one
It is rather expensive & I don't think I'll be able to put it up on my own like I can the motordome
But I've just seen this annex that will fit to my existing awning at a fraction of the cost,
Does anyone else use one of these? if so, do they offer much more (usefull) space & how does it attach to the awning?
Cheers folks!

We're in the stickiest situation since Sticky the Stick Insect got stuck on a sticky bun. -hmmmmm
I just changed from a Classic to a Sleeper. The Sleeper is basically the same as a Classic except the bedroom is much bigger (sleeps 4 rather than 2) and is mostly in an extension rather than taking lots of the floor space. I also have the extension you pictured but I may not use it as the Sleeper is probably big enough as it is. Anyway, to answer your question, the extension adds useable floor area of 3m by 2m and is easy to put up. I saw a film of it being put up somewhere - maybe on the Khyam website.

hiya karen, I have one. Only used it twice but i think its great. Real handy for when you're away with a large group. I have had it pitched 2 ways, one on the end of the awning so i tlooks really long coming out from the van, but I have also pitched it sideways on so it goes along the side of van if you get what i mean. I know the whole side of the main awning doesn't open, and just a small door, but i just kind of folded that side bit back as it was water tight anyway. The annexe bit has a flap on its roof which attatches over the roof of the motordome, so relys on the strength of the main awning. I got mine from the kyam seconds place for about £50 or so i think. I'll try and dig somepics out for you of it pitched. Like i said I think its great for when yo're away with a large group, esp as there aint much room in the awning if the bedroom is pitched....

I couldn't find anything wrong with it to be honest. They didn't have a blue one to match my awning so i just had the green one. It is pretty big when pitched! There is no-where to pitch a bedroom pod in the extention, but you could easily chuck a popup tent in there i reckon. Where it joins at the sides, the green bit kind of folds in and buts up to the main awning reducing the chance of a gap if you get what i mean. If it was really windy you might get a draft, so I reckon you would want a bedroom/popup tent if you were to use it for sleeping in. You could keep it as a seprate room though for defo if you pitched it side on.
Its not actually recomended for the motordomes though so i'm told, but the fittings are the same as the tents so it fits fine. Can't see why it wouldn't be as strong attached to the awning over the tents though. Not tested it in really bad conditions though.
I think i prefer it pitched sideways on, as campsite owners don't moan as much as it doesn't look like its taking up as much room, and it also means you can fold out the front of the awning as a sun canopy too.
I think I'm gonna have to get ordering.....bit of a difference in price to the other kyham awning!!! they sell for £250 and they're not quick erect either!! (ooh errr missis!!)

Looks pretty good. Might keep this idea on the backburner in case my motordome classic ever starts to feel a bit cramped.
I got mine from the 2nds site too (Aspinalls) and the only "gripe" I have is that they said it might have a small repair actually meant 5 repairs and they said the figure of 8 attachments would be included but they weren't.
My fault as it was about 2.5 weeks before I had the chance to put it up and check it was all correct and in order.
I'm okay with the repairs but I'm a bit miffed about the figure of 8 thingy.
Talking of awnings, can anyone point me in the right direction for a groundsheet?
I have no idea if it'll fit to a just kampers awning, as its specificaly made for a kyham I doubt it - but here's a link to the site - they aren't second hand, just 'seconds' so anything on there will have faults, but everything is a fraction of the normal retail price
