Anyone free and knowledgeable to give me a call re extent of play allowable between splined hub annd splined shaft on o/s rear 1985 1.9 wc Thought I had a w bearing gone but now not sure if it isbearing or hub/shaft assembly. I would have expected ZERO play between hub and shaft but maybe a littel is permissible in such a an old vehivle but would welome anyone with experience of what might be allowable/liveable with. Please call 07807 509865 Cheers

Many thanks to Fritz for responding and providing spot-on advice. A fractionally loose hub nut sounds like a potential wheel bearing problem. Hub nut seriously cranked up with scaffold bar-worth being aware of.

Thanks again Fritz
