Here's my 1982 Aircooled Autohomes campervan

Post by phade »

Hi everyone,

I can't remember if I had posted any pics of my campervan or not, but here goes:-

Here's my campervan a few days after I bought it in July 2006:-

And here it is now (photos taken about 2 weeks ago):-

looking good!

I've got the same interior in my Autohomes pop-top. it had been painted in silver hammerite so i'm in the process of scraping, yes scraping the paint off. Amazing it seems to be working in some places. i'll have to replace, paint over or re laminate some panels though.

do you have a leisure battery in yours? i'm hoping to get one soon

My one does have a leisure battery, it's fitted underneath the passenger's seat (where it should be).

Good luck with the resto :) What model of Autohomes is it ?

i'm going to put up some pics of the work i'm doing on the interior - you can laugh at the condition inside considering yours is so immaculate!

Love the van, all Aircooled are pure!!

Especially like the anti- congestion charge No plates. Get down to the Fox & Goose May Day weekend Junction 5 of the M3, and we can have a much closer look

Its almost that time of year when all air cooled owners crawl under and reset the heater flaps to closed.

I have a 1985 Water Cooled Autohomes pop top and exactly the same interior woodwork and upholstery!

All things being equal (new ignition barrel and gearbox parts) I'll be at the May BH F&G meet. Hope to see you there.

:ok

I love the camper, and being Aircooled is even better

Some of us Aircooled owners do have properly working heaters/exchanger systems, honestly, or am I just the odd one out lol.

My heat exchangers definitely work, in fact a bit too well during the summer.
