Post by wackos00 »

Hi Everybody,

Just thought I would show some pics of my van now it is fairly finished....

16" Merc Alloys fitted with 10mm Baxter spacers and new studs all round, slightly larger OD than standard but due to Scooby engine Isn't a problem.

And the inside

I build the interior my self and the rear seats as well as the fronts below are from a ford scorpio, the rear seats fold down flat so can be a bed.

Having a few engine issues right now but will post pics soon.

well.... for some reason the clutch release arm is in the wrong position, ie at rest it is at the same hight as it should be when the slave cylinder is fully extended. So the slave cylinder can not push on the the arm. I resolved this befor by extending the lengh of the slave cylinder rod, but thats not quite right. I can manualy (with a bid tube) pull the clutch release arm down and I can feel it spring back up against the spring plate so I think that is all working. However in addition I have broken some teeth on 4th gear so the whole box needs re-building. It was a 4 speed A/C and Aidan Talbot doesn't work on this type of box. Gogbox will re-build it but with uprated and better final drive gears its over £800 wich I do no have. The only option for me I think is to find a new box, put the RJES bell on it and fit it, and hope the new box will last long enough so I can save up to have my original box re build.

Don't suppose any of you norfolk boys know of or have a box??

Cheers,

Jack

also have a dk box in the garage....but its of dubious build quality as has been sitting around for over a year. Was a runner. occassionally "crunched" into second, but had been running like that for a while.

pm me if you need one

Cheers Pepperami,

It sure has taken a lot of time and effort to get it to where it is now, though it is still not finished, I have loads of things still to do, also I must confess that the paint work doesn't look as good as it does in the photos when the wax has dried and the sun isn't out! I did have pics of it from during the build but can't find them now.

Thanks Em, Pepperami has offered me a box and its local so I think I will give it a go.

Hello! I just took the chance and gave you a call to ask about that ABD box..thanks for you advice, I'll check out a few other places, but yeah - any more info on the ABD would be great, it may be my last resort if willing to sell.

many thanks
B
