The steering column makes a clunking whilst driving. there doesn't seem to be much play and the steering feels ok but the noise is quite severe.
Can't work out if its the column or the rack, any ideas?
Also how expensive a job is it to change either?

Re: Clunking Steering Column
I would jack the van up get it on stands.
Get undearneath and get someone to use the steering.
Then pin point the cluncking. Could be as simple as a loose bolt on the steering rack.
be care to jack the van up pon the chassis and use at least 3 tonn stands.
Its not that complicated undearneath there.

Get it fixed, put neons on it, get a huge amp then go camping........enjoy the quite life

Check the rubber steering couplings.
