Rustoleum match for VW Pastel White?

Post by neil3965 »

Does anyone know if one of the Rustoleum off-the-shelf colours is a near match for Volkswagen's Pastel White (L90D)?

Thanks.
Cheers, Neil

No, if you want an exact match you need the rustoleum equivalent code and they will mix it but Icouldn't find the conversion code for VW 90D (pastel White). The standard range of whites are either too white or too cream. I had a tin of enamel mixed at my local paint factors and they reckon its as good as rustoleum and can be rollered but I haven't tried it yet.

i got enamel paint mixed its a good match.i tried to roller it without success, i did not thin it though, my personal opinion is that spraying gives a much better finish, especialy into all the nooks and folds on these vans.

Thanks Kev, that would be great - which white did you use as a base, and can you remember (very approximately) how much yellow you needed to add per litre?

Hi Neil

I used RAL9010 as the base and RAL1018 Yellow, Didn't need much yellow think it was less than 100ml for a 2.5 Ltr can of white.

If ur not busy this Wed there is a local VW meeting and Cruise from PC world in Corstorphine departs around 7pm.

I will be in the van and will bring the paint if you want.
