I have a quick question about my 2.0 litre Aircooled camper's twin carburetors. Should the notches on the twin chokes be aligned with the notches on both Solex 34 PDSIT-2/3 carburetors ? The Haynes manual doesn't seem to cover the twin chokes adjustment at all.
I had a quick look at my camper on friday (after the engine flooded its self) and had noticed that they were not aligned to the notches in different places.
The left hand choke was aligned approx 2mm to the left of the notch on the left hand carburetor. The right hand choke was aligned approx 3mm to the right of the notch on the right hand carburetor.
Another occasional "problem" I have had with my camper (I have been driving around it) is that the idle speed is occasionally fast (approx. 1600 to 1700 RPM), regardless wether it has been on a long run or not. The (temporary) "cure" I have been doing so far was to suddenly blip the throttle to force the idle speed to drop back to about 900 RPM. Would an intermitant Idle Speed Stabilizer cause this problem ?
Any info or advice welcome
