Excited New members first van!

Post by Treefiddy »

Well after alot of mmmm'ing and arrr'ing I've finally taken the plunge and put a deposit down on my first van!! I hope to collect it on Monday or Tuesday and I can't wait. Its a 1980 devon 1.6a/c. Its had new pistons and barrels last year seemed to drive great on the test run. Can't wait to start fettling it. My plans are to slowly refurb and improve the van with a few modern goodies inside but whilst trying to keep those retro looks. My girlfriend and I just love this colour too.

Not sure if this is the correct forum to post this kind of thing (apologies if not).

Why are people such ninnies that they name their vans? It's a very "american" trait.

I should know, being an American who refuses to name his vehicles.

Winnie the Pooh's alot more famous though surely!
As the girlfriends paid for half the van I'm more than willing to let it have a name, I've heard its worth a couple of extra BHP too......

looks great!

I originally wanted an early Devon but they were all too expensive at the time. Embrace the Brown!
