Lumpy Tick Over

Afternoon All.

Having a few problems with getting the tick over right with the Aircooled CU (2.0). Runs Lovely Drives very good but seems to be missing on tickover. Remove the engine cover and it idles superb...Put the engine cover back on and it runs on 3 and cuts out...

Any ideas......Plugs have done about 4k leads were replaced before I purchased it 3 years ago.....

Anyone had this problem......

ht lead arcing out on engine lid??

if its fine with the lid off it has to be something to do with the lid.....
