bench seats
Im thinking of getting the double bench seat for the front of my van, i havent got a bulkhead and know that i can bolt it to the floor pan with some kind of bracket. Does anyone know where i can get this bracket or any kind of info on fitting bench seats, or anyone selling some.

Re: bench seats
I have a bench seat, and the bar which replaces the bulkhead, which the seat bolts to.
The bar bolts to the sides of the van, about half way up the seat, not to the floor.
I can post some photos if you like.
The seat & bar are for sale. I only want what I paid for them (£50). PM me if interested.
cheers

bench seat in position:

seat-to-bar fixing, seen from front:

van-to-bar fixing, seen from behind. In this shot you can also see a padlock bracket, which has nothing to do with the seat, but just happens to be in a handy position for resting one end of the bar on it, as I have not actually fixed the bar to the van. In the same way that I have used self-tapping screws to fix the bracket, you will need to use a couple at either end of the bar, to fix it to the van:

fixing bar, seen from behind, just wedged in against the van, so it looks a little bit wonky when really it wouldn't be:

Re: bench seats
Why not get a different style of bench seat.... I used a transit middle seat and adapted it, it fits perfect, has armrests for all seats and is comfy as you like...
Also the back is mounted to the base so you simply screw it into the seat boxes and thats it, all secure!!

Re: bench seats
Forgot to mention that this seat also folds down flat onto itself so is ideal if you dont have a bulkhead...
And it 'may' be up for sale, i have already made brackets e.t.c.... i have gone for a walkthrough now....

Re: bench seats
Looks like a nice seat there, does it fit onto standard runners? Mine does as its genuine VW...
Not that I'm trying to turn this into a my-seat-is-better-than-yours competition or anything
cheers

Re: bench seats
I like the idea of a modern comfortable 3 seats in the front but if you go down the transhite route where does the handbrake go?
Re: bench seats
Seat is fixed but honestly it works very well, i found it comfy drivin 3-4hrs non-stop and im 6'3", the missus could drive at 5'5"...
I have made a handbrake extension so that you can still use it. I couldnt get over how perfectly it fitted and how comfy it was...
