what tow rope

Nice simple one here.
What type of tow rope to go for when off roading a Syncro?

Kinetic or traditional?

Thought I remember someone posting here that kinetic recovery should be left to the professional, but now cant find that post
Is a 10 ton breaking strain acceptable, some of the website I've looked at suggest a 1 to 6 factor of safety.

Does anyone have a favourite they could recommend. its fairly easy to type 'offroad tow rope' into ebay and get a load of results. but with prices up to 50 quid, i want to know im doing the right thing (and buying quality).

I am to afraid to use the Kinetic one i have. Though to be honest the only time i have needed a tow rope is towing all the 2wd vans into and out of vanfest.

first thing,tow ropes are for towing, nothing else,recovery ropes-straps are for recovery,nothing else,dont misuse them this is where problems start,dead ropes are stressfull on recovery points-chassis and towing points,kinetic straps-ropes are much kinder to these points,take it from someone who has used them proffesionally for 15 years they are perfect for recovery,and dont listen to people who listen to hearsay about people misusing them,get a good kinetic strap,keep it out the sun,only use it for recovery,wash it when its dirty in warm water and itll be good for years,and they come in diferent weight limits so easy to get the right one,cj.

But dont forget to use very good shackles.
Famous four sell a good towing and recovery kit in a nice watertight zip bag that is well worth the £65 odd pounds.

Russel, think the price has gone up a bit (£95 inc vat and postage) but it all seems to be there.
