How does the van kick out 14.5V when you are measuing 13.3V?
Check all earth straps are nice and clean!
Check all battery clamps and relay connections are clean.

2 hours running wont fully charge a 110Ahr leisure battery.

13.3V at the alternator is too low. First check the alternator belt is tight then replace the regulator. Not sure about the wiring you should have two red parallel wires which are the charging wires that go to the starter and a blue wire that goes to the battery warning lamp. They should all be virtually the same voltage with the engine running.

Hi matey...from memory, output tolerence on Bosch alternators of this era was 13.9-14.2volts so 13.3 is on the low side. I recently replaced my regulator and now see 14.3volts which is a little on the high side but I guess better than the other way around.
I'm running a 90amp/hour alternator so no problems charginging the two (starter/leisure)
It would seem you have several things working against you: 1) you have one of the weaker alternators @ 40amp 2) the regulator is working below tolerence @ 13.3volts 3) and you have a big 110amp/hour battery which, which is going take some charging with what you have going on.
Personally I would look for a cheap replacement 65amp/hour alternator (90's are like gold dust)
FYI: The minimum length on the bushes is 5mm (13mm long when new... this is the right angled type with 28mm slip ring) so yours are not far off needing replacement.
And finally, my regulator/bush pack cost under a tenner (posted) from an auto supplier in Birmingham (PM me for details)
Give my regards to your better half
PS....that 110a/h battery would take 5-6hours min to fully charge through the van (if your regulator wasn't faulty)

Thanks guys!

I'd like the regulator link please Martin! Ta!

The 110amp isn't normaly needing more than a top up but the point i was making (badly) is that its not getting the topup. If its had some hammer it getsa mains charge.

The cold weather we've had recently won't help the leisure recover so well.
I would be routinely chargeing on the mains with a three phase for 110.
