Pieburg carb

Post by markydidler »

I have a 1988 T25 1.9 petrol with Pierburg carb. The exhaust tail pipe is black as a witches T**
The van runs fine allthough it does tend to hunt a little, starts fine when cold but wont start 1st time when hot.
Not a major problem but any suggestions ? Tweaks ? :)

Hiya, welcome to the Club :ok

Sounds like it's running rich to me, what's the emmissions like on it's MOT ? Does it use/lose oil ? How's the air filter ? Does the auto-choke come off OK ?

Ian

Thanks for the tips Ian, It passed its MOT on emissions last time, I have recently renewed the air filter and seems to come off the choke ok. If I was to adjust the co adj screw to weaken the mixture which way would I turn it , In or Out ?
cheers...mark :idea

Do we assume you've serviced it and renewed plugs, leads, filters and such?
