We don't dump in ours either (it would have to be a REAL emergency!) - it was the solidity of the paper I was referring to.
I think ours is the Thetford fluid, but I am sure they are much the same. Blue treatment fluid for the waste tank, and pink rinse assistant in the flush tank.
Perhaps I am not using my camper enough :(

Me and maths don't quite go. I emptied half the blue stuff into the chemical loo and told bankroller this is going to be expensive...
I don't know how to convert anything liquid you see.
And I'm kid from the 70's so ruddy well should!
If you've gotta go, you've gotta go. (Camping that is :-) )

We got 2 500ml bottles (one pink and one blue) from the local caravan shop but never remember to take them out the shed...we dont do any "poo in the pot" either so most of the time just use water. The kids have occaisionally put (normal) loo roll in the pan and never caused us any hassle.

I just bought one of these http://www.amazon.co.uk/PORTABLE-CHEMIC ... 678&sr=8-1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Nearly bought the chemicals that came up on the "customers who bought this also bought this" thingy but noticed it was £11 so dumped (snigger!) that.

It's only intended for number 1s and even if daughter has to poo then naught a good swill with bleach won't fix.........

I used to use Thetford Aqua Kem (the blue stuff) but then while at Halfords, they ran out, so I bought Top & Tail, which costs £10 but it was a gallon-worth and the same formula works for both the upper water container and the waste container.

Hear's some truth that some of you don't want to hear:

Every porta potty is made to accomodate poop - whether it comes out of kid's bums or adult bums. Don't be shy to use it as intended. You're not abusing it in any way by doing so.

A camper is made to house porta potties. Some are permanently mounted in fixed locations, so It's not a sin to use one indoors. In fact, some campers actually come with just a curtain separating it from the rest of the camper, like this one on an American folding camper...

It's expected that those camping are going to be intimate family members and not strangers. Just accommodate their privacy when they are using it.
