Cost to raise rather than lower?

Hi, my 82 westy has been lowered at some point, but gives a very rough ride! So, I'm going to raise her up! But how much would that cost roughly to get done at a garage? I.e. get her raised back up to her original height? Plus, can I sell on the lowering stuff the garage takes off? Cheers!

why dont you try in the swap section and see if anyone in there can do the swap for their standard springs :ok

Should be cheap cheap cheap. Get some standard suspension off of wanted. Sell lowered stuff on for sale. It would help if you know what suspension you have though.

At the moment I believe it has been lowered by 40mm, BUT my mechanic says that the ride is so rough he SUSPECTS, that the springs are the original ones compressed: is that possible?? He says that means there is little give hence the rough ride. He has quoted, for new springs and all the other parts PLUS labour 350-400... does that seem expensive?

i think fitted its about right..still makes me feel ill at that price for these old bangers..but i suppose thats the vw camper rip off

dunno about the compressed thing though ive heard some people heat the springs up so it takes some of the temper out of the steel and they compress that way

Hi, i suggest you get them checked ASAP, when i checked my front springs i found they had been chopped down and were not seated right, my own fault i suppose for not checking when i bought van and taking sellers word that they were proper lowering springs. On the plus side you should find some standard springs easily enough either here or on fleabay. good luck Steve W.......

Rear springs are easy peasy to fit - I did mine yesterday. Got the standard ones from GSF for just over £50 each. Can't comment on the ease of doing the front ones though.
