Can we clarify what we mean by wild camping?
Whilst camping, do we have access to fresh water and toliets (portaloo or event trailer)?

Just asking as were leaving the camper at home and bring the single cab (and the wife), and if the answer to the above is 'no' then she'll want to make arrangements at the Inn. She's not a peeing behing the pushes sort of gall.

cheers

Not guaranteed if it's wild camping...

There's often a fresh water tap (even if its 1/4 mile away as at Syncropendence) and sometimes a brook/river for a splosh (as at Syncropendence, 20 feet away)
So its a porta-potti or the bushes, and a 10 or 20 litre water flagon. Sometimes the deal is ...
she can use the porta potti and he has to use the bushes

We have an event tent (shelter tent ) and a big gas barbecue, if Doug who stores them is happy to bring one or both, which is usual...

Doug might confirm the presence of:
Tap on site:
Whether he noticed any nearby Inns or B&Bs
If the farm has an outside loo we can use (it has been known)

Some couples and esp. those with children without a camper, have fairly expansive tents, some who come alone have smaller tents, right down to almost bivouacs. Sleeping in the back of a singlecab on camping beds is not unknown, if it has a tilt or hardtop. Generally few if any consider that they really 'rough it' and many cook sleep and eat in style, weather permitting (and some inspite of anything!). Even those with campers that are staying 2 or 3 nights, will often put an awning or even an additional small tent up for emptying their bits & bobs into, or using as a loo tent.

Hope that helps...

Missing why? :)

thanks, that helps a lot.
Just got the wife to fill out a membership form so she can get more involved (drive), and then realised i havent renewed mine yet. Just sent both of these off, fingers crossed we can get processed in time (i know this needs to go through a committee meeting).

Water available at the farm - choice of two sites fror camping, one in a field (flat) close to farm or besides the River Stour which is about half a mile from the farm. There is a pub and I think a garage/shop in Halford which is no more than two miles from farm.

Doug,
Can you supply the name and the postcode of this farm please, because I'd like to get my bearings prior to the big event. Well, it is for me, being my first ever meeting.

I know this is a somewhat strange request, but I'm a ......strange bloke.

Thank you.

Eric.
