Re: anyone near hinckley
Is the engine perhaps slowly flooding? If you've had the carb off check that it's bolted on tightly and there are no air leaks.
I'm originally from Barwell and pop back fairly regularly to see my parents, but not this weekend I'm afraid.

Hi, mine's doing exactly the same thing, and I have had the carb off, I,ve also had new rotor arm and distributer cap, and no joy! I,ve come to the conclusion that the auto-choke's buggered, is yours man or auto? will tell you what it is when its fixed.

right still struggling got it to run of choke now but when i drive it after about 5 to 10 min it goes all sluggish and power less then cuts out normally around 30-40 mph there are no air leaks there is fresh fuel cleaned the float chamber out ect that made some difference but just keeps cutting out now

Re: engine help needed
I had exactly this problem. We traced it to a manifold air leak, and eventually diagnosed a cracked head. Hopefully you don't have the latter, but the wiki has the full case study of how we got there: https://club8090.co.uk/wiki/Fu ... _Air_leaks. HTH
