Basically, I've took my carb off because the auto-choke buggered up, so while it was off I thought I'd re-con the diaphragms etc... so I bought a kit from gower and lee, and it came on friday, I've tried to fit it today and the two diaphragms are the wrong ones! either way this doesn't really matter because I've noticed that one of the screws on the pump cover no longer tightens up.
So what I want to know is does one of four screws really matter or can this carb be upgraded to another or do I just need a new one?
34 pict-4, off a 1.6ct air-cooled, upgrade?

I've fixed the screws and fitted all new bits , but the auto-choke is still buggered! does anyone have a spare auto-choke for this carb?
or does any-one know where I can get an upgraded carb that will fit, preferably with a manual choke? thanks.

The first thing I would say is to send your Solex 34 Pict-4 carburetor off to be profesionally rebuilt. The only companies I know of (other may know of other rebuild companies on here) are the following:-
- Gower and Lee (Bushey Heath, near Watford). I would highly recommend these people.
- Gas Sure (I can't remember where they are based).
I would avoid the Weber since that carburetor is not designed for the 1600 type 1 (nor type 3 for that matter) Aircooled engine.
