Automatic Trasmission

Post by doodlebug »

Engine running Perfect
Automatic Transmission changing perfect

After about 20 miles the Gear leaver jams in drive, you can get neutral but you can't get reverse or park,Gear leaver button won't push in, After about 4 minutes everything moves freely

Any Ideas?

Eh?
the Gear leaver jams in drive
:o

you can get neutral
:D

but you can't get reverse or park,

Seeing as the gear lever and the button are the key to AT and its selection of forward and reverse gears, I'd be investigating this area before any thing else. I'll bet a pound to a pinch of shyte it all down to a worn pawl/ mechanism.

My line of action would be that if the problem is not as Fritz suggests then I would find a AT specialist.

There maybe a fault that can be rectified and leaving it may make matters worse.
I assume you have checked the fluid level and condition.
