Anyone come up with an alternative to the VW pipes from pump to rack?

yup pirtek made mine for eighty quid. all in hydraulic hose. you will nee to remove the metal pipes for them to see the unions etc.

also had mine done by pirtek, done while I waited and cost about £80 if i remember right.
