Diamond Rv. Autostrada Elite

Post by sabcully »

Hi Everyone!
Just wondered if anybody ever heard of this variation? Cannot seem to get anything on Google but am looking at
buying one. It looks nice and in good condition. Has got a 1.6l engine, (water, I suppose).
Is that going to be really slow?

Many thanks.
Sab

That's the one.
Just want something reliable and non-tatty. :)
Going across the Alpes will be a challenge then?

might go a bit faster if you removed some of the tat...
1.6 is embarrassingly slow

Is it bad enough not to buy it then?
Will it do 60mph?

My 1.6 sat happily at 60 on the flat, and would go up to 70 but I was scared of breaking a 28 year old engine. Your ebay one looks to be sturdier though. However on hills it was very slow, a steep hill had me crawling at 20. TBH I am happy going at 60 in the old busses, I've just changed the way I drive.

there's a good cheap replacement in the AAZ engine which is a well trodden path.
Thing is with these old tubs..The bodywork is the No.1 consideration anyway.
engines come and go.
you'd be surprised what goes in there!
