Post by tattyhatty »

I am looking to get the best price for a new/recon engine for a 1980/81 T25 2ltr air-cooled camper, where is my best bet.

We fitted a Remtec nearly 2 years ago and it's been great. Water cooled admittedly so not exactly what you're after, but if their air cooled are as good then you'll be ok. I'm sure there are people who will tell you horror stories of all available makes but I can only go on my experience.

Delivery to the workshop was next day, and the old unit was collected the day after we called when we'd finished, the deposit repaid the same day, so no worries there. Carefully ran it in and it now has about 25,000 km on it and I'm still very happy with it.

Lots of others have good things to say about Elite

Good luck in your search, and again from experience, budget for a full exhaust system too

What a long strange trip it's been
