My 16", £3700 SOLD

Post by willf »

I've been putting it off but it kinda has to go now as I've been given my mortgage offer. Has 12 month mot. Lee has been looking at it and it needs a steering bush and 2 rear cv joint boots i think that was it but he'll let me know.

It drives lovely. Love the 2.1dj!

Heater fan switch knob has fallen off (hence fan on dash) but get good flow once moving. bluebird 3/4 bed.

£400 is too low. I'm not looking to get much but £400 is less than 10% of what i paid for it!
I will, however, consider any offer.
I do need to sell now.

How much is it anyhow?

Are you still buying a house? It'll be 20% cheaper next year!

Will, I've PMed you, but messages seem to be sat in my outbox rather than sent messages - let me know if you've got them. Yes I am interested depending on price.

Good luck - I've had one response but he doesn't seem to be online very often. Maybe he doesn't really want to sell.

All PMs stay in "outbox" until they are read... then they will be in your "sent messages".

OH Wow! Thank you Lee!! Sorry all I've just been moving house and waiting for my broadband connection etc! It's been a busy time! And it's only getting worse with a baby on the way in 4 weeks time! So I need to act now and get this van shifted. There is a steering bush and 2 CV boots that need doing if I remember correctly. I will have these done by Lee at his garage as he knows syncros and have it all looked over etc before it goes, if you want. You can then talk to Lee himself, so you don't get what I said he said, if you know what I mean.
I do not want to sell on a poorly van and I want to feel happy that I didn't sell it knowing there was a problem, so I would rather get it all done now and give me and the buyer the confidence.

Rob you are right i don't really want to sell it. I love those big old wheels and tyres and the need to hang onto something as I haul myself up into it. I love driving it, even on motorways it's great. Something good about a capable 4x4 that uses locks not articulation to get about, means she works on the road too and doesn't roll around all over the place like my old defender 130 camper but still gets to all the same places.

Now the van is not taxed and I am flat broke and can't get the insurance just to do that now. (Though it was very cheap through Glynwood)

You can buy it and tax it or come grab it on a trailer, it drives and works well, ask Lee and test it yourself.

I bought it from Cj who put a replacement 2.1Dj in it and sorted it out a couple of years ago. It was an empty dirty van then.

I payed £4400 for it. There are some on Busman.be now too the same as it was then, they start at about £5000 (e5500) and they are in belgium.

This is in Swansea.

I am not a very confident seller, I don't like to state a price, I know my minimum and I know my maximum! I want enough to not lose out much but not so much that I feel bad about it!

It is not a westy interior! Part of it is (the rear half of the side unit by the bed is westy, the front half is built my me) but it is tatty and could do with tidying or replacing. The bed is new Bluebird rock n roll with foam (uncovered) i built a ply box to go behind that allows access to engine and a bit of storage and makes bed level. I put carpet on the walls. The bed is well bolted down to the structure of the van. The floor is lino.
The van was already insulated by the Finns.
The roof is factory fiberglass.
There is a large shelf for and aft that i use for surfboards.
There is a cd player up front.
Speakers under the bed.
The dash could do with a dash tidy on it as the Finns put loads of holes in it for kit and radios etc.
The wheel carrier i put on.
The wheels have been rotated.
It doesn't have a cooker or sink.
It does have 2 working and regulaly used to keep going diff locks.
It does look bloody good even with the high top, the huge wheels and tyres balance it out.
I put the captain seats in from a caravelle.
There is some spare carpet for seat boxes or whatever.

If anyone wants this van and is willing to have me fix it with Lee and then come take it away as soon as is possible than let me know. I'd prefer to do it this way.

Please send me your email in PM's for more pictures or better quality ones etc.
My email is willfromsandwich@hotmail.com
I'm scared of phones but I will call you if you really want!
I'm online and ready to part with it now.
Please if you sent me your number before and you're still interested could you send it again, I seem to have lost all my pm's when i deleted all the bloody fridge bit ones.

Thank you.
