Since we bought our camper the Westy LED panel has always shown the water tank as full even when empty. Today I took a trip to Maplins, stripped down the level sensor and soldered on two 510 Ohm resistors (to match what was there) and also two new reed switches 1 N/O and 1 N/C. Put it all back together and guess what.. LED's still show it as full no matter where the magnet is. Put a meter on the cable at the back of the LED panel and the resistance changes from 0.1 all the way up to 1020 Ohms as expected. Next job is to check the board I guess although it looks in good nick, has anyone got any other ideas??
Cheers
Jason

Re: LED Panel - Gutted
Hi
My westie also had a similar problem ,when I peered into the tank I found that one of the wires onthe outside of the tank had come loose I repaired it and hey presto it worked.
However my tank doesnt use float switches there is one long contact that runs top to bottom inside the tank and 3 studs set at different levels (red orange green) so i guess water is measured by electrolosis or something. I also took the led panel out and checked it as far as i could for loose/dry soldered joints all has worked fine since (touch wood) .

Re: LED Panel - Gutted
Thanks guys, The resistance measured at the board is spot on so I'm sure it's the board. Will check for dry joints etc and then may end up ringing Peter (Always more satisfying if you can fix it yourself!!)
