Hi,

I have 4 steel 15" mercedes wheels for sale. Crap tyres, but only £30 to get rid of them! Collect from Cheltenham, Glos.

As for the rest, try CJ at Syncrospares or Brickwerks for the CV joint, Syncroservices or Busman for the decoupler and VC.

Cheers.

Hi,

I have 4 off 15" Atacama Diamond Pattern Mud Terrain style tyres, not exactly Not exactly Mud and Snow - fantastic offroad and have only seen about 1500miles of use (running on BFG Mud Terrains full time now).

3 of them are already mounted onto Merc wheels - one is loose. PM me if interested.

Cheers

Jake

Hi Chaps,

I have added another syncro to my collection.
Some of you may have already seen this van on ebay i believe, 1992 yellow RHD SIKA.

I have managed to get 4 tires and 3 rims, but am still looking for 2 more rims 6J 15 et31 if anyone has any for sale.

Its current problems are front props removed and stiff VC.

I believe there is going to be a Banbury off road event shortly and would like to pop my cherry 4x4 wise there if possible.

So the plan is remove the good VC from my camper and fit it to the SIKA
Reinstall front prop shafts

I also need a front wheel stud (the bit the nuts screw onto) for 14" syncro are these the same a 2wd vans.
Im runnign around with only four nuts on at the moment.
Whats the key to getting one of these out and a new one in. ?

Appreciate any advise or parts for sale

removal of the hub to press in the stud means destroying the wheel bearing, if you are going to do it consider future use and wheels and fit longer studs while you are at it cos if you (or future owner)decide to stick some alloys on at a future date you'll have to destroy the bearings again
You need Bentley manual for syncro maintenance all the procedures are in there, good luck

Fitting and dropping the prop is not too bad when you have done it a few times... but is a pain when you need it for 5 mins.....
My VC is tight... I have a deacoupler waiting to go on so that will make life easy.... I shall keep the tight VC as thats good... a solid shaft is impractical as it doesnt allow any slip... so you have to really make sure you dont have it in unless on loose ground...

I was speaking to mike ghia today and he suggested putting the front drive shafts back on and see how it is.
I suppose i could use the stiff VC for offroad and just remove the prop for the journey there and back.

Something else that will need to removed is the tyres i bought from Syncroand101, atacama sports.
I put them on and went down the road, pulled over quickly becuase i thought the tread must be catching the rear swing arms.
They were'nt catching anywhere, what a noise them things make when there on, you'll never hear a gearbox whining with them on.
