had a problem torquing head down...advice desperately needed
had a prob torqing the head down on her 1y yesterday....basically using cheap tools(i know i know)..i did the two torque settings fine but when it came to the first set of 90 degree angle tightens the extension bar must have given way and spun at some time......so now im basically f****d.....i know the first two bolts i angle tightened were ok...so do i find out what torque the first two are tightened to then match the rest or do i take the head off and fetch a new head gasket?...............................................im right p****d off....i know better than to use cheap tools but having a rather stresfull few weeks

They are stretch bolts so dont panic. I'd back them all off and start aagain with the initial torque settings. The main thing is that you bring the head down evenly. The final pulls just stretch the bolts in their yield phase so they wont add much more force. You will get a good number of extra turns outr of them before you break one.
