Pop top cover thingy?

Where can I get one of thiose thermal exteranl pop top covers from for my Westie?

I got one for a devon from a guy called pucerscreens on ebay. He does this one for a westie item no 140302531743. I just emailed him and he listed one for me. Recommended by someone on here and it's really good.

you can make them yourself if you are a bit handy with a sewing machine. Use the bubble wrap type aluminium insulation which you can get from most diy stores, cut to size to fit over the pop top, finish off the edges in some way (sewing webning round etc) and then a couple of eyelets (one in each corner near the hinges) which you can put a bungy strap through and then attach to your van somewhere (pop top hinge etc)

For those of you who have purchased one - are they well made? do they fit well and prevent rain getting in. Is the quality good?

Only got mine a month ago, so have tried it on van and it was great, but haven't used it for camping. It's well made though and looks to be sturdy.

I've been thinking of getting one of these thermal covers too. They must help retain the heat inside the van. Or keep cold at bay. Or visa versa during summer.

I know they are a bit pricey (IMO) but more importantly how easy is it to actually place and secure against pop top material ? Do you push roof to full extension then wrap round? Have you got long arms? Or half way up then secure top part. Fully extend and secure bottom ?

I can't see how you could position thermal cover against pop top when fully up without using a ladder?

Or am I being really stupid?

I have a silver roof screen from pucerscreens. All I do is unroll it connect up one end then walk it round the van, once its connected by the old bungee cords its easy to move into position. Really makes a noticeable difference in the summer and also pretty good also in the winter.

I've had mine a year now......Best money i've spent.....killed the condensation dead....naturally warmer and cooler in the summer...And blacks out the light early in the morning......together with the side window screens, worth every penny

Mine's a 3/4 devon pop top and I can't see how one could possibly reach top part once raised.

Hi Maxstu, I sort of attached it with the bungees thenpushed it up from underneath. I did have to stand on the front bumper to give it a wiggle. Didn't take 5 minutes though. Really easy. I love it, can't wait to give it a proper camp out next weekend.

Hi Mutley,

Do you fully raise roof first? - Yeah - pop the roof up & once its attached on both sides you can slide the main part into position to get the right height its well easy no hassle at all. I sometimes use a tent pole or something similar
