what size is my alternator

Hello all
Im trying to establish what size my alternator is on my air cooled 2ltr is. I believe the alternator is the orginal. in my haynes manuel they say there was two sizes 40 and 60amp.

Any ideas.
Next question if required is there an alternative that could be fitted without modification that is bigger than 60 amp.

Mine tells me its a 45Amp. Has yours got a label on it?

Yours is most likely the 60 amp alternator.

you can always add a second one! I have seen an Aircooled with 2 alternators, the second one powered a small arc welding rig.

all depends how good your fabrication skills are!
