Depends what model but generally 1.6kw for the small or 2.8kw for the larger models.
2kw model also available.

Thanks. Do they ever generate enough heat for it to be too hot in the van and need to turn down???

Re: Propex. How hot??
It should be on a thermostat really, you can't turn them down.
At -4 deg outside my 1600 manages to keep the van at about 18 - 20C
At 4 deg outside it will get hot in the van

Re: Propex. How hot??
Not sure if that is normal.
I had to renew my thermostat with one from B&Q that cost a tenner.
The bi-metal strip starts to lose it's memory as to where zero is, so there is adjustment in the form of a little toothed wheel in the thermostat, turning it will move the contacts nearer or further apart.
I tried this, but my bi-metal strip was shagged.
Your van is 1986 'sleeper, so the 1600 was fitted.
In very cold weather it will feel very warm and not hot as it's drawing icy air from outside.
Later propexes draw air from the cabin.

Ours does. Thermostat isn't working and I haven't got round to replacing it yet, did buy one from B&Q though.

Looking for: window apertures for side windows, at the back of the van

Re: Propex. How hot??
it's un-comfortable to hold your hand close to the outlet of ours,, too hot.
maybe yours needs a service. ours is the 1.6kw btw.
i think theres a filter in the gas line which gets blocked and restricts gas flow which severely reduces heat output. i remember rick & ang having this problem with theirs

My January 1984 Auto-Sleeper has the Hot Box (early version of the Propex X1) fitted. It uses air from outside for the gas burner but air from the van interior to be heated & returned to the interior. It's just a heat exchanger.
