DIFF LOCKS

hello jed the spread and faty jake gave me (there did all the work) a hand today at un-seazing my diff locks (the rear one today, every thing went fine the pin engages freely, however there is not any vacuum (on eather pipe) to engage the lock from the switch in the cab. Any help or advice me many thanks neil.

Check the pipe work back till you have vacuum. Check the output of the reservoir green balls thing by pulling off the hose. Here is a diagram of the workings.

nice diagram Simon. found a split rubber hose next to the front diff so hopefully it will cost pence to fix the diff locks and not lots of pounds.

nice diagram Simon. found a split rubber hose next to the front diff so hopefully it will cost pence to fix the diff locks and not lots of pounds

There will likely be others too, if there is enough spare length. Trim about 1" off the rears too, and then keep the bits you cutoff and inspect for perishing perishmentitis under good light. If the cut end is perished, cut another 1/2" off etc

There has been a complete diff-lock trouble-shooter one Syncro website for about 5 years now... :ok

thanks for the diagram. its all sorted the non return valve was sticking a quick blast with the air line sorted thant out, and the 2 rubber pipes than conected on to the front diff lock both had splits on them. both the difflocks noe engaging and dissengaging freely on the axmans £500 doka thans for the drawing and the advice.
