air horns

Ive had a new set of dixie horns for two years now gathering dust. Theres no wiring diagram in the box got 5 horns compressor and a relay with numbers on it? anyone got a wiring diagramm they can put up.

Pretty much like this diagram but replace the fog lamps for your compressor.
As for the horns, they are normally colour coded (coloured bands around the pipes or numbered)
Wire used on 30 and 87 needs to be reasonably heavy (2.5mm) because these are carrying the higher current for the compressor...other wires are merely switching the relay so 1/1.5 is fine. I suggest a 15amp inline fuse on the heavier line near the battery.

Agreed on the wiring arrangement
But can I suggest you plumb the whole lot together outside the van and make sure:
1) it works
2) you "like" the sound
3) you can put up with your horn sounding like an asthmatic

Seriously - I've NEVER heard a sequenced air-horn play anything like the tune they're supposed to be playing. The compressors aren't powerful enough, nor do they have enough capacity to be playing one horn whilst starting to play the next one. So they just sound wheezy and out of breath

Unless you are very lucky with your system, my advice would be to remember the General Lee with fondness and leave the air horns in the box (Let's face it, the General never "played" that tune - it was a recording and we know it!)
