Westy every time
no bother at all with the LHD, its good pulling up to people at the lights :)
and the westy interior is the best by far (IMO)
making best use of the space.
Also for resale value a Westy is hard to beat :D

My conundrum is that I can't find a westy within any kind of distance that I could travel to view it.

So, is it better to have a van that isn't a westy or not to have a van at all :? :?

Seen this one:

Oh, hang on, it's a high top. Still the site might be worth a trawl round if you haven't seen it before.

As for preference, we've got a LHD Autohomes, and the LHD has never been a problem; just don't notice it after a while (and we do live in London).

I had an Autohomes Kameo, then a Dehler (dreadful piece of tack) and now a Westy, no competion in my view, Westy wins hands down, and you dont get toast crumbs in your bed.

What was wrong with the Dehler? I've never seen one in the metal but they look pretty good in pictures, smart to look at and stuffed full of kit.

HI
Westy for me

likes been said before i like the "modern" interior and the on board gas storage system. LHD not a problem and makes driving a Westie a bit special .
Mine came with hook up kit priced in deutchmarks under the back seat and even had some pre euro coins behind the fridge :rollin

Cheap nasty interior, upper bed a death trap, they might make good yachts, but they make crap campers, worst conversion i have ever owned or seen, :cheese

Neither, I bought a 1990 bus and I'm custom building it to my spec..£950 for the bus with 12 months MOT and I'll spend another £1000 building it just the way I want it. One of a kind and the satisfaction of building it myself.

having had the pleasure of owning both at one time or another i can honestly say westy.

far better conversion, superb use of space, better build quality , and the "no toast" thing is a load of old knackers really!!

they are the best conversion (as approved by vw themselves)
