Well. The old thing is a bit old, (1984, so a youngster next to bays etc..) it has a few rusty bits, yet the MOT man said it looked quite solid underneath and passed it with no advisories.. What he was comparing it to I'm not sure, maybe, despite appearances, I have high standards..?
Yet every time I start it it after a week it puts out a cloud of blue smoke that's embarrass a rusty chainsaw! (I have a rusty chainsaw to compare it with, and it can put out out a decent smokescreen..)..
It rattles, as they all do. It's slow and thirsty, as they all are. It is good fun though. It mostly gets where it's going, and often gets back, though I'm fairly handy with spanners - had to change a head water jacket seal in a festival campsite (I was half expecting it to go and had a spare, and socket set etc with me..).
I can't afford a recon engine, I'd like to put a 2.1 in there, but they seem to fetch silly money. Even a half decent or less 1.9 seems to be more than it's worth..
so. I've been looking longingly at T4's.. Am I a bad man?
Is it knackered??
