Hi Top fittings

Appears the old van hat's seam is leaking. Need to reseal it.
Question is, does the seal hold the roof on, or is it better attached by some other means.

Many official conversions are sealed then screwed on, many retro-fitted ones aren't. Our's (fitted by Yorkshire Conversions) was put on using fibreglass matting and resin, others use Sikaflex or Tigerseal.
