how long to change a clutch master cylinder?

Think mine is seeping. Wondering how long does it take to change one. Anything I need to know special about it? Best place to get one?

Hi Lloyd, should take you half hour or so to change and bleed, remove all carpets and mats from drivers side as you will make a bit of a mess, plenty of absorbant paper, cylinder has one 12mm union on the front, two 13mm bolts that hold it in, quite accessable and a push on pipe on the back from the resevoir, tricky bit is getting the pin from the pedal back into the top of the new cylinder through the expandable grommet, nimble finger needed, we have done one or two that needed power bleeding but most bleed up no problem.

As Steve say's ... I found that gently tapping the clutch pedal helped with the bleeding.

I did this a couple of weeks ago. £32.50+vat from GSF. It's a bit fiddly, but not difficult. Good idea to clamp the pipe from the reservoir with a pipe clamp; reduces the spillage a bit. HBOL says to pull this pipe off first - no chance with a pipe that's been in place 20+ years! I ended up prising it off after I had removed everything else, which gave better access to it.
As Steve says, it's fiddly getting the pin into the top and holding it there while you get the bolts in their holes before it drops out again! But hey, my other cars are Minis and compared with doing the job on one of them it's a breeze!

I also found that it wouldn't bleed properly without the Easibleed.
