dim-dip resister location???

Post by lloyd »

Dave asked me to take pics of dim-dip resister and how it's connnected. I looked and found nothing, so he sent me a pic of it:

It's not there! Took both headlights out to be sure. I have nothing but alarm horn behind headlights.

Any ideas where it might be hiding?

Thanks

Thanks Steve. With parking lights my headlights glow. Also with headlights on engine off headlights glow. I assumed the dim-dip resister was what does this, but guess I'm wrong?

with the dim dip system the only differance is that,
when the ign is on and you put side lights on the dip head light bulb glows dimly aswell.

what the point of that is i dont know, waste of time if you ask me.

if you haven't got one it makes things easier, if it's not behind the headlights chances are there isn't one at all! best way to check if you can't see it is to put your side lights on with the ignition off, then turn the ignition on and see if they get brighter!

You only get dimdip on british market vehicles after about 1986, so most won't have it. Its a redundent feature anyway designed to stop pentioners driving on sidelights when they should have proper lights - use proper lights and who cares if you've got dimdip?
